Trauma is a major factor for students today. Two thirds of children will experience at least one traumatic event by age sixteen.Trauma’s effects can last much longer than the initial event and effect students behavior, relationships, and academic performance.

Learn Trauma Basics

The workshop begins with establishing a basic level of trauma understanding for teachers. We will look at how trauma effects your student’s brains, bodies, and ability to learn and engage.

Enhance Classroom Management

Using case studies, group discussions, and interactive breakout groups we will identify and understand trauma aware responses to student behavior to utilize in your classroom.

Cultivate a Trauma Aware Classroom

Finally, you’ll examine your overall classroom culture and find ways that prevention and early intervention techniques can become part of your trauma aware classroom culture.
